We are located at roadside along the R612, the transport corridor linking the South Coast of KZN to the Drakensburg/Ukahlamba Mountain range in the interior.

Our village is perched on the second highest peak of the escarpment-siHlutankungu Hill-after which it is named.The winds that rush up from the sea are flush with water and condense at this high-altitude.This results in a blanket of mist resting languidly over the peak and the surrounding valley.Legend has it that travellers through this damp environment had to pluck their way through the mist,as if plucking feathers-this is the meaning of Hlutankungu.
